“Our volunteer day at the Dream Center was such an eye-opening and rewarding experience. From the moment we walked in the door until the end of the day, the staff and residents seemed to serve us. It was shocking to learn how many people in our community, especially children, do not have their basic needs met. It was a long and exhausting day, but oh so rewarding. Our group left with happy hearts and smiles on our faces!” said volunteer Maria Bocker.
“Preparing and delivering food may seem like a simple thing to do; however, planning, grocery shopping and cooking meals while going through a difficult time can be stressful and seem like a mountainous task,” said volunteer Shara Blackmore.
“I volunteered my time at the Niagara County Kiwanis Peach Festival at Academy Park in Lewiston, New York on September 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th as the chairman of the Kiwanis food tent,” said volunteer Mike Briglio.
“We are supposed to be making an impact on these kids and our community, but I think it’s making a bigger impact on us,” said volunteer Amy Parker.
